Leadership is Heart challenges leaders to use their spiritual gifts to lead with love, caring and authenticity. I have been challenged throughout my career as a leader and hope to provide some guidance, support and wisdom through my reflections.
I have worked in the British Columbia education system as a teacher, school administrator and school district superintendent. Currently I serve as the Technical Consultant for the Wellspring Foundation For Education and travel to Kigali, Rwanda three times a year to advise and mentor leaders. I also teach at Wellspring’s Abundant Leadership Institute in Rwanda. I also serve as a Global Education Program School Inspector travelling to schools in British Columbia and in China. I also consult with schools and school boards on leadership, effectiveness and governance.
I am a passionate student of leadership who loves to lead and loves leadership. I am married to Anne my wife and best friend for over 40 years, a father of 3 sons and am a grandfather of two grandsons.
I have learned that leadership is about the heart, it is about caring and it is about love. After reflecting upon many personal leadership trials, I have come to realize that when I listen to and put the needs of the people I lead before my own needs, my leadership is at its most effective. My leadership beats for being an empathetic, caring and supportive leader. I choose to be a leader who loves to lead and loves those whom he leads.
